A Festive Medley of KYNAH
After meeting at a hospital almost 7 years ago, the two quickly fell in love. Their connection was so special, that they were bound to be together. After the groom, Shaun, proposed to Shazia in Chicago amongst the beautiful Fall foliage, they had to postpone their wedding for 2 years due to the pandemic. However, the celebration continued in July 2022, with an intimate yet grand series of wedding events! Our gorgeous KYNAH bride Shazia, looks stunning in the Blue Meadow Lehenga for her Mehendi, and the Sufi Sari for her vows ceremony. Outfits truly fit for a queen like Shazia! How was your experience working with KYNAH? What were you most worried about when you began dress shopping?
I had the most incredible experience working with KYNAH! I was worried about what the outfits would look like in person vs. online, if they would fit right, and then also a bit nervous about coordinating outfits via email instead of in person, or on the phone. I live in Chicago and the virtual appointment schedule was full, but I had nothing to worry about! From my first communication with the KYNAH Team, I knew I was in good hands. They were professional and detailed, and every outfit I have ordered has been absolutely perfect in terms of custom size and any color changes. How did you know the Blue Meadow Lehenga and Sufi Sari were perfect for your events?
The Blue Meadow Lehenga was the perfect lehenga for my daytime pre wedding event because it was beautifully embroidered and detailed while still being light, feminine and not heavy. The Sufi Sari caught my eye instantly when I was shopping for my vows ceremony. I was looking for something romantic and modern for my vows ceremony, and I fell in love with the off-white/nude net
and incredibly detailed hand-stitched sequins. To this day, I still get compliments on it!
How did he propose? Tell us more about your relationship!
Shaun and I met almost 7 years ago when I moved to Chicago for medical school. We met at the hospital, found out we had mutual friends, and started dating. We quickly fell in love and continue to fall more in love every day. Shaun is truly my best friend and has become my partner in everything in life, including my co-worker, as we now work at the same clinic! He proposed in Fall 2019 on a bridge in Chicago's beautiful Millennium Park, surrounded by trees bright with fall foliage. We celebrated with our close friends and family at a surprise rooftop party that night, but then had to postpone our wedding for 2 years while we
worked through the pandemic. We finally celebrated with our closest family and friends in July 2022 in my hometown of Vancouver, Canada and it was a four day party that was worth the wait!
What is one moment from your wedding day you wish you could go back to?
The moment we shared our vows. Though we were surrounded by our friends and family, that moment felt so intimate and it truly felt like it was only us in the room for a couple of minutes. It was so special to express our love in the presence of those closest to us, and for them to witness the beginning of our next chapter.
Do you have any advice for brides/brides-to-be?
Enjoy every moment! From your engagement, to your bachelorette, bridal shower, and wedding day, this time only comes once and you should embrace every bit of love, celebration, and excitement! Things won't always go to plan, and that's okay. The small stuff won't matter in the end, you'll only remember the feeling you had on that special day, so hold onto all the good vibes!
