For Shayla, her wedding was as vibrant and dynamic as her love story with Nirat. What began as a chance meeting in San Francisco at the height of the pandemic blossomed into a partnership rooted in patience, laughter, and trust—culminating in a Golden Gate Bridge proposal that felt like destiny. When it came to planning their wedding, Shayla envisioned a celebration that blended tradition, family, and fun into a sun-soaked Cabo getaway. With KYNAH’s modern designs and expert guidance, she found outfits that perfectly captured the spirit of each event: a bright, shell-accented saree for the beachside setting, a hybrid neon-meets-traditional ceremony look, and a sangeet outfit alive with sunset tones and shimmering sequins. Together with their loved ones, Shayla and Nirat transformed their wedding into a joyful, two-day festival of culture, laughter, and unforgettable moments.

Our beautiful KYNAH bride Shayla, was truly glowing in the Rust Orange Floral Printed Chiffon Sari Set by Paulmi and Harsh, Swara Lehenga Set by Mahima Mahajan, and Farah Lehenga by Chamee and Palak! Congratulations to this lovely couple - the KYNAH team couldn't be happier for the both of you!

Tell us about your experience working with KYNAH.
KYNAH was great from end-to-end. Initially, I booked an appointment to understand my sizing better, look, and feel, and gain a deeper understanding of the designers I loved. Their customer support was extremely helpful in assisting me with purchasing three dresses upfront and suggesting adjustments to sizing to ensure they would fit my body perfectly.

What stood out to you the most about your outfit from KYNAH? How did you know it was the one for you?
Quality, modernity, and designer versatility! So many beautiful options it was very difficult to pick but, I knew I wanted to look tropical and beach-y since our wedding was located in Los Cabos, MX. That's why I chose a bright and flowy saree with kawdi shells and a ceremony bridal outfit that had hybrid design and neon colors, (e.g. geometric shapes mixed with floral and beading). For the sangeet, I had to stick out, so I embraced colors of the sunset with lots of beading and shiny sequin in the top and dupatta.

What was your favorite part of your wedding? How did you make the wedding personal to you?
We loved condensing our wedding itinerary across two days, without losing out on the importance of the Sindhi traditions, across a weekend in Cabo that our friends and family could also enjoy as a vacation. I loved utilizing Garza Blanca's orange tree for the Haldi. It was a perfect setting that heightened the magical experience. For the sangeet, we loved how our families and friends joined in the dances, and I even surprised Nirat by dancing with his sister, but his performance stole the show. Having henna artists, amazing Indian and Mexican food, and gifting the ladies felt true to the culture and traditions. Our ceremony hosted on the beach, was led in both English and Hindi, and truly felt like a unique experience to us, our pundit did an amazing job by engaging the crowd and making them laugh throughout. To conclude the weekend, our sisters led the reception program with beautiful speeches and even a rap! We danced the night away to Cali classics and churros on the beach. Having family travel from ALL OVER the world to be in Los Cabos, MX was truly the greatest gift.

What is one thing you wish you knew before you started planning your wedding?
It's a second job (even if you have the best wedding planners; ours was Eunice Bravo, who specializes in Indian weddings, and they did an excellent job). Expect pivots to happen, and don't try to please everyone, because you won't, but it all ends up being okay in the end :)

If you and your husband could have invited any celebrity to your wedding, who would it be and why?
Most likely someone from the Bay Area or LA, since that's where we are from and continue to represent these areas. It would have been a debate, but we could have agreed on Too Short. He's great live, and it would have appealed to a couple of generations.
