A Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani Inspired Haldi

A Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani Inspired Haldi
Our KYNAH bride, Natasha Gambhir, looked effortlessly elegant in Sel by Shloka Khialani for her Haldi ceremony and we could not be happier to see how perfect this sari was for her! The KYNAH team was thrilled to be of assistance throughout the entire process. We wish Natasha and Sohail a lifetime of love, happiness and a series of unforgettable Bollywood-inspired moments!

How was your experience with Team KYNAH?
My experience was great! I originally planned on flying to a pop up but the virtual appointment was so easy to set up and helpful that I did not need to travel all the way. What I loved the most is that they set up a follow up appointment allowing me time to decide what I wanted. They were so great about getting me the outfits way in advance of my wedding date!

What was it about the Sel made you say "Yes!" for your Haldi ceremony?
I absolutely LOVED the Sel. I wanted something comfortable yet elegant for this event. The Sel was modern with a touch of traditional and most importantly unique! It was easy to customize to the classic haldi color and was such a hit with all my guests who thought it was the perfect daytime haldi outfit!

If you could’ve invited one celebrity to your wedding, who would it have been?
I am not big on celebrities so not sure who I would have invited to my wedding. If anything, I would have loved to have my grandmother from India come. She is no longer able to travel due to her medical condition but I will be visiting her in India very soon!

What advice would you give future brides?
Plan early! Clothes take time, especially if you are getting something custom made so plan in advance because creating what you want plus shipping from India may have delays. Getting done with outfits early on makes planning so much less stressful. Also don't be afraid to ask questions, the KYNAH consultant I worked with was so helpful with all my inquiries about different options, colors and ways to customize.

What was the inspiration behind your wedding theme/aesthetic?
A ton of my inspiration came from Bollywood! My wedding had Bollywood moments where we had surprise entrances and performances to recreate classic moments from Bollywood movies. My Haldi inspiration came from the song Kabira Encore from Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. I had day time pool side haldi just like the song and it was everything I could have ever hoped for.
