What stood out to you the most about your outfit from KYNAH? How did you know it was the one for you?
We don’t have access to Indian designers like Vvani Vats in South Africa, so KYNAH truly made that dream a reality for me. I couldn’t stop envisioning myself in the pearl lehenga; it had the perfect balance of minimalism and statement. It felt like it was made for me. I loved that it was handmade in India by one of my favorite designers, and being able to access that through KYNAH was an absolute dream.
He proposed at Delaire Graff Estate, a stunning wine farm in Cape Town, South Africa quite literally on a hill surrounded by mountains. It was so beautiful and felt like something out of a dream. We’re high school sweethearts and have been together for 12 years, with half of that spent long distance throughout our university years. Looking back, I have no idea how we made it through, but it truly feels like it was all destined for us. He moved to Cape Town in 2018, and we’ve been living our dream ever since.
What was your favorite part of your wedding? How did you make the wedding personal to you?
My favorite part of our wedding was the soft, draped elements—they made everything feel so romantic, especially with the mountains as our backdrop. We had a string quartet playing throughout our traditional ceremony, which created the most beautiful ambiance. It was deeply personal to us, as they played songs we’ve always listened to together. It truly felt like a full-circle moment.
I wish I had known it would rain on my wedding day. While it’s difficult to predict the weather in advance, we had planned a beautiful outdoor ceremony with a draped cabana and the mountains and vineyards as our backdrop. In the end, the rain brought a moody, romantic ambiance that made the day feel even more magical. I found beauty in every moment, even the ones that weren’t part of the original plan.
We had one goal on our wedding day—to have fun! On a regular day, our dream guest might be someone we could have deep, thought-provoking conversations with. But for the wedding, it would have to be Drake. We danced to so many of his songs, imagine a live performance? That would have been unforgettable!
