Mahika Gupta tied the knot in Seema Gujral’s Victoria Lehenga
at her non-traditional wedding and could not have looked more beautiful! The KYNAH team was so happy that her trip to Los Angeles was a dream come true and that we were able to help her finalize on the Victoria! Congrats to these newly weds, we wish them a lifetime of love and happiness!
We weren't having a traditional wedding, so I was looking for a lehenga that was incredibly unique with a bit of drama. Most of the shopping I had done previously had been online, and I wasn't finding anything that quite fit the bill. I ended up traveling from the Bay Area down to the Los Angeles pop up, thinking I would go for a lehenga that was in the nude/dusty rose color scheme. I tried on the Victoria Lehenga
and was immediately obsessed - I had never seen anything like it before. I loved how sparkly it was, and the open back detail was so special. We got married in Half Moon Bay right on the ocean and the details reminded me of the sea, so it all came together in an instant!
How was your experience working with the KYNAH team?
The team was just the best! I did a couple calls with the team initially to understand the process and see pieces over video call, and everybody was so helpful right off the bat. From shipping blouses to try on at home to pulling pieces that fit the aesthetic I was going for, the team really took the time to understand my unique needs and were super communicative and responsive. When I visited the LA pop up, I was blown away at their kindness and patience while I tried on a million options, only to land on the first one I tried on in the first place.
What was your favorite part of wedding planning?
My favorite part was seeing all of the pieces come together! I DIY’d a lot of our decor and was a little nervous the colors we chose for florals, bridesmaids, and groomsmen wouldn't come together the way I envisioned it. Once it all started falling into place, it made the wedding feel so real and tangible!
What is one moment from your big day that you will never forget?
We had a dance party that lasted for 5 hours! We had to start our cocktail hour earlier in the day to make sure we had daylight, so dancing started super early too and we assumed the party would fizzle out and we would call it a night whenever that happened. That was totally not the case - our dance floor was full from start to finish. Even the DJs were shocked that we kept going for that long!
How did you meet your husband? Tell us a little bit about your relationship.
We met at work - within a few minutes of talking to each other, it was clear we had tons in common and would be the best of friends. He was raised in San Francisco & he knows the city like the back of his hand, so most of our early days were spent exploring and going to his favorite SF staples.
