Lucia’s wedding unfolded like a dream—rich with emotion, cultural meaning, and intentional beauty at every turn. Set against the romantic backdrop of Blue Hill at Stone Barns, the celebration artfully blended her Mediterranean roots with her husband’s Indian heritage, creating a weekend that felt deeply personal and timeless. From joyful, music-filled moments to quiet, ceremonial ones, each event reflected the couple’s shared journey and unique love story. Though Lucia had never worn a lehenga before, she stepped into the experience with open-hearted excitement. With KYNAH’s warmth and guidance, she found outfits that not only honored tradition but made her feel radiant, regal, and completely herself.
Our beautiful KYNAH bride Lucia, was truly glowing in the Taara Florette Lehenga by Mrunalini Rao and the Moga Lehenga by Ridhi Mehra! Congratulations to this lovely couple - the KYNAH team couldn't be happier for the both of you!

Tell us about your experience working with KYNAH.
I had such a wonderful experience with KYNAH sourcing my wedding lehengas! I was so lucky they could accommodate my last-minute appointment at their NYC pop-up, and from there, everything felt seamless. As someone who had never worn a lehenga before, I was a bit unsure going into the process, but the team made it so comfortable and enjoyable. They were incredibly patient and kind, answering all my questions and guiding me toward styles that felt just right. They also helped my mother-in-law find the perfect lehenga for our Western ceremony — she looked absolutely stunning! All the lehengas turned out absolutely beautifully and now hold a special place in my heart. This part of my wedding planning was truly memorable, thanks to KYNAH's support every step of the way!
What stood out to you the most about your outfit from KYNAH? How did you know it was the one for you?
I never got to try on my Sangeet look before the big day—in fact, I had originally settled on a dark green Seema Gujral lehenga. But after exploring more on their website, I discovered the incredible Taara Floretta Lehenga by Mrunalini Rao. With roots in Hyderabad, where my husband’s family is from, this choice felt even more meaningful. Although my measurements were already set for the Gujral, the KYNAH team made the switch effortless, and I couldn’t have been happier with the decision. When the lehenga arrived, it was even more beautiful than I had imagined. Out of all my wedding weekend looks across four events and multiple outfit changes, this was the one I was most excited to wear. I truly felt like a princess. For the ceremony, I chose a more understated style, but the red of the Moga lehenga was absolutely regal and breathtaking. The deep, rich red made me feel like royalty, and the intricate embellishments sparkled brilliantly on our mandap, adding a layer of elegance and tradition to the moment. It was everything I dreamed of and more, capturing the timeless beauty I envisioned for this special part of our celebration. I couldn’t have been happier with the result of the pieces, which I will cherish forever! I also had a dupatta made from my Taara Lehenga in white to wear at our Western wedding ceremony. I worked with Isa Kriegeskotte (@isastitches) to create a scarf—this was a super special nod to the Indian events and a meaningful connection to our cultural blend.
How did your partner propose? Tell us more about the relationship!
We met in January 2020 in NYC, just weeks before the pandemic changed everything. Despite the timing, we fell hard and fast for each other. We spent most of lockdown together, navigating the uncertainty of the pandemic and adjusting to the new normal. As the world slowly reopened, we had no plans of slowing down. A year later, we got a dog together and moved in in 2022, traveling the world and building our life side by side. When Shaan proposed, though I knew it was coming, it caught me completely by surprise. He got down on one knee in a Whole Foods parking lot by the Gowanus Canal, a place that had become significant for us during the pandemic. It was one of the few spots that was open and had green space, so we spent countless hours there, walking and talking. The proposal was simple, meaningful, and perfect—a true reflection of our journey together
What was your favorite part of your wedding? How did you make the wedding personal to you?
While Shaan was planning the proposal, I was daydreaming about our wedding. We both knew we wanted to get married at the iconic Blue Hill at Stone Barns, just outside of NYC. I envisioned a long, romantic dinner to complement the liveliness of our Sangeet, alongside the rituals and intimacy of our Hindu ceremony. The events balanced each other beautifully. @Mudari Creative helped bring my creative vision to life. The space was filled with vibrant marigolds spilling from amphorae and a cornucopia of fruit sculptures throughout the weekend, created by Bloom Bloom Studios. It was a nod to the bounty of Indian traditions and my Mediterranean roots. We felt so honored that our friends and family traveled from near and far to celebrate with us. It was truly a magical weekend, and every detail made it feel even more special.
What is one thing you wish you knew before you started planning your wedding?
One thing I wish I knew before I started planning my wedding is just how much time and energy goes into coordinating every little detail, especially across a multi-day, bicultural celebration. It’s easy to get lost in the excitement, but the logistics can quickly become overwhelming. I would have been more mindful about pacing myself and giving myself the space to truly enjoy the process without feeling rushed or stressed. Taking the time to prioritize what mattered most to me—and not getting bogged down in the noise—would have made the planning experience much more enjoyable from the start. And there's no way I would have been able to execute without @Mudari Creative. I would have been lost without them!
If you and your husband could have invited any celebrity to your wedding, who would it be and why?
If we could have invited any celebrity to our wedding, we would have picked James Blake and Jameela Jamil. James Blake is our favorite shared artist, and his music has been the soundtrack to so many moments in our relationship. As another South Asian interracial couple, I would have loved to see their reaction to our fusion events, blending cultures and traditions. Their unique perspective would have made the celebration even more meaningful, and we would have been thrilled to share such a special day with them!
