By Inaara Vishnani
Meet our stunning KYNAH bride, Karishma, who radiated elegance in the exquisite Ivory Paris Sequins Skirt Set by Seema Gujral. Her journey to finding the perfect dress was nothing short of a dream come true. Combining her Hispanic and Indian heritage, Karishma desired a dress that encapsulated both cultures with intricate beading, florals, and Indian patterns. Discovering KYNAH on Instagram, she set up a virtual appointment and was amazed by the customization and attention to detail. The result was a breathtaking gown that arrived from India in just three months, fitting her vision perfectly. Karishma and her partner Christian, who share a beautiful love story that began in high school, celebrated their union with two ceremonies in one day, highlighting the fusion of their rich cultures.

As said by Karishma:
How did you hear about KYNAH? How was your experience working with KYNAH?
Working with Kynah was a dream come true. When I began the process of searching for a wedding dress I was so underwhelmed with the options and experiences I had with other sellers. I was feeling very discouraged and was scared that I was never going to find the dress I was looking for. Being half Hispanic and half Indian, I really wanted a dress that spoke to both cultures with beading, florals, Indian patterns, a cathedral veil, and of course - ivory tones. When I stumbled upon Kynah on my instagram I looked through their inventory and found a dress that was very close to what I was looking for and could have been the dress for me with some customizations. I set up a virtual appointment to see what could be done and from this appointment onward I felt like Cinderella with a fairy god mother. There was absolutely nothing they said no to and were able to customize my dress down to even the micro details when asked. Communication was consistent and I received the dress all the way from India in a matter of 3 months, and it was PERFECT. I remember trying it on and crying because I couldn’t believe how beautiful it came together. Even after I received the dress the line of communication was always open for any questions or concerns I had. Even a year after receiving the dress they followed up to see how it came together on my wedding day. I could not thank them enough for making my wedding dreams come true.
What stood out to you the most about your outfit from KYNAH? How did you know it was the one for you?
I love that it was an American styled wedding gown with Indian beadwork and designs. I loved that it was actually a mauve color with white beading because it gave the dress so much dimensions and was very flattering to my skin tone. I also had a custom veil made to match the dress and it was absolutely stunning. It was about 10 feet in length and had was beaded to match the dress, it really brought the whole look together so beautifully on my wedding day. My guests kept saying that I was glittering in the sun.
How did your partner propose? Tell us more about the relationship!
I met Christian my freshman year of high school and always found him to be a little dorky. Nonetheless we became best friends and remained friends all of high school. Come our freshman year of college, we had lost contact for some time as we attended different colleges. Eventually we found our way back to being close friends but this time, something felt very different and we both could feel it. We unexpectedly became very fond of one another and spent most of our time together flirty and resisting the urge to cave into something deeper than a friendship. Obviously we both miserably failed at this and ended up falling hopelessly in love with one another. We dated for about 6 years before he proposed in front of his mom’s Christmas tree on Christmas night using a Dundie award (from my favorite show ’The Office’ that said “Will you marry me?”. I screamed and threw it at his head and now here we are haha.
What was your favorite part of your wedding? How did you make your celebration personal to you?
I ended up having two weddings in one day. I began the day with an American ceremony in my Kynah dress in the outdoor portion of our wedding venue. We then had an intermission where our guests could enjoy food from our favorite Mexican food truck before heading into the inside venue space for our Indian ceremony. My husband and I had to make a quick change after our photos in the American outfits and go straight into the Indian ceremony. It was a whirlwind of a day but was so worth it because I got to marry my best friend twice with all of our friends and family witnessing the beauty of love bringing two cultures together.
What was your favorite part about planning your wedding? What was the most difficult?
Nobody cares as much as you think they do. Everyone just wants to eat and drink and have a good time with you. All the little details you worry about truly becomes background noise on your wedding day. Focusing on your partner will be the best thing you can do for yourself on that day. You really will remember every feeling you felt that day if you just focus on them, the whole reason why you’re there.
