Bikash and Alina are high school sweethearts and ended up with a true love story made for history. After Bikash ignored Alina on her birthday, Alina had no clue that Bikash would plan an elaborate and unexpected proposal that would completely strengthen their love for each other! Our gorgeous KYNAH bride Alina, looked like a princess with her prince in the jaw-dropping Perla Lehenga! We can't get enough of this wedding and this adorable couple! How did you hear about KYNAH? How was your experience working with KYNAH?
I came across KYNAH first through Instagram but then my close friend also ended up buying her reception outfit for her 2021 wedding from KYNAH. Knowing she had a good experience made me feel better about choosing KYNAH for my big day too.
Why were you drawn to the Perla Lehenga? What about it stood out the most to you?
I always knew I wanted to wear traditional red for the wedding but for reception, I wanted something very glam, romantic and sexy. I was immediately drawn to the 3D roses on the lehenga skirt and the pearl blouse. Plus I knew the dripping crystals on the blouse would make for nice movement on the dance floor. I kept browsing hundreds of lehengas but found myself comparing every piece to the Perla Lehenga so at some point, I honored my gut feeling and just went with it.
How did they propose? Tell us more about the relationship!
Bikash and I are high school sweethearts and basically have been together all our adult lives! We’ve created a life together that we used to dream of as giddy teenagers in love. Our wedding was a celebration of our journey, growth and our hope for our future together. Family means everything to Bikash but he also does things last minute so naturally he proposed in a restaurant while having dinner with my parents on my birthday. He actually ditched me all day on my birthday so I was pissed with him going into the restaurant but after finding out that he was shopping for a ring & running around trying to get it sized so he could propose on my birthday, all wrongs were forgiven. He actually reproposed few years later with a bigger ring too.
If you could relive one moment from your wedding day, what would it be?
We had a big fat traditional wedding in March back in Nepal. We both were very stressed the whole week but the moment I saw Bikash in the janti (baarat) I just felt a big wave of relief and pure joy wash over me. That’s when I knew I was marrying my person.
If you could pick a song that represents you and your partner, what would it be and why?
The songs that represent us the best are “Timi Nai Hau” by Sabin Rai and “Stand By Me” by Ben E King. We actually had our first dance to Timi nai hau.
