A Dancing Queen

A Dancing Queen
After an intimate and romantic elopement in Positano, Sruthi and Yash completed their celebration with the full Indian wedding experience! Sruthi was entirely glowing in the Sasha Lehenga and the Notes of Mint, Hints of Floral Lehenga. The KYNAH Team enjoyed every aspect of dressing Sruthi on this memorable occasion. The photos say it all!  Congratulations to this beautiful couple - we wish you all the love and happiness.
As said by Sruthi:

How did you hear about KYNAH? How was your experience working with KYNAH?

My childhood best friend, Tatiana, is family friends with Aisha. I've been following Kynah since the beginning! It's been amazing to see how much they've grown since they first launched. Working with Kynah was such a great experience because the entire team was supportive, communicative, and helpful from day one. Shopping for Indian clothes can be daunting from the US as our options are limited, but I had a wonderful bridal experience during my boutique appointment where I bought my reception lehenga with Simran, and virtually when I purchased my mehendi lehenga. My mom, sister, and sister-in-law also purchased their reception outfits through KYNAH as well! I can't emphasize enough how amazing it was to have the whole boutique to ourselves during the appointment- something that's so rare when shopping for Indian clothes. KYNAH also sends you pictures from India when your outfit is complete before they ship as part of their quality check which I really appreciated.

What about your KYNAH outfits did you love the most? How did you know they were the ones for you! (Sasha Lehenga & Notes of Mint, Hints of Floral Lehenga)

I loved the high quality of the outfits, from the materials to the stiching. They were so fun to wear and fit really, really well. The KYNAH team worked with my family and I for any changes that we wanted to make (blouse style, color, lining, can-can.) I went into my appointment looking for one outfit in particular - the Sasha lehenga that I immediately fell in love with when I saw Aisha's sister wear it to her wedding. I always wanted to wear white and loved the detail work on the lehenga and blouse sleeve. It was an easy yes! It took me much longer to decide on my Mehendi lehenga, but it ended up being one of my favorite outfits! The flower work on the delicate mesh blouse was stunning.

How did he propose? Tell us more about your relationship!

Yash and I met at a Bollywood dance competition in Ann Arbor, Michigan. I was captain of my team UCLA Nashaa, and he was the director of the competition A2Dhoom. He asked me if I wanted a drink at the afterparty and the rest is history! We navigated long-distance while we finished undergrad and grad school until I joined him in Boston. He proposed at a beautiful location overlooking LA and had multiple surprises planned including a dinner with my family that night, and an engagement party with all my friends the next day. We were so excited for our big Indian wedding but also wanted to celebrate our love in an intimate, romantic way. So, we eloped in Positano over the summer where we said vows, exchanged rings, cut a cake and popped some champagne!

What is one thing you wish you would have known before starting your wedding planning?

This will sound cliche- but I wish I would have told myself not to stress as much. There is a lot of pressure on brides and chatter in the industry about the "wedding surge" and how that affects vendor availability which adds a lot of unnecessary stress. Things will always work out! But if you have time, it's always better to get things done ahead of schedule. Try not to save anything for the last couple weeks, even month, leading up to the wedding (hospitality bags, sangeet dances, final vendor meetings, writing speeches, etc.)

If you and your (now) husband could have had any celebrity come to your wedding, who would it have been and why?

Well other than Beyonce and Bad Bunny (no explanation needed) we would have loved to have Jay Sean come to our wedding and perform! He was such an iconic artist for South Asian Americans and would have been a hit with our crowd.
