Their celebration embodied joy and love, emphasizing the importance of cherished moments over perfection in wedding planning.

How was your experience working with KYNAH?
Working with KYNAH was fabulous from start to finish! I contacted the team to find my perfect destination wedding Mehndi outfit. They were incredibly responsive in providing appointment details to view the outfit and ultimately I ended up ordering a Diya Rajvvir One Shoulder Dhoti Skirt Set which fit perfectly. I was even able to attend the NYC store pop up and share my wedding stories and photos with Aisha!
What stood out to you the most about your outfit from KYNAH? How did you know it was the one for you?
I was instantly drawn to the multi colored print and complex beading and embroidery work on the outfit. The one sleeve design and high quality material made it perfect for my Cancun destination wedding! It was incredibly unique that the set included a Dhoti skirt which brought a fun flavor of my South Indian background with a modern twist. KYNAH had such a good variety of designers that made for such a final bridal experience. It even ended up being most of my relatives favorite wedding outfit of mine from the entire weekend!
How did your partner propose? Tell us more about the relationship!
We met 5 years ago when a mutual friend brought us on a beautiful Seattle hike! After a year of long distance and a cross country move to NYC, Nirmal planned a romantic getaway to Italy for us. On the last stop, at a beautiful viewpoint similar to where we first met, but on the Amalfi coast, he popped the question! The rest is history!
Having our loved ones fly to a beautiful setting in Mexico to celebrate with us meant the world! The performances throughout the weekend were some of our favorite memories. As a dance teacher, I choreographed 7 different performances which were such a blast to be a part of. As a singer, Nirmal even planned a surprise singing duet for us on the night of our sangeet. I also refused to only let the groom have a Baraat entrance, so we designed a dueling Baraat where the Bride’s side and I arrived in style in a vintage car! We also brought fusion aspects to the wedding with a Jamaican steel drummer performance, South Indian traditions as part of the ceremony, and writing and exchanging American vows on the mandap; moments we will cherish forever!
What is one thing you wish you knew before you started planning your wedding?
I wish I knew to stay focused on the big moments, and not let the details stress us out! Being with our favorite people, enjoying our private firework show and hitting the dance floor was more important than any silverware choice or design detail. Things will happen out of your control, but what’s most important is staying presently in the moment with your partner!
If you and your husband could have invited any celebrity to your wedding, who would it be and why?
My husband and I would’ve invited Ranveer Singh to our wedding!! We basically used the entire Rocky Aur Rani soundtrack in our dance performances and we love his Bollywood upbeat energy and humor - I’m sure he would’ve been the life of the party!
