Blending Indian heritage with a modern coastal sensibility, their day felt effortlessly personal—shaped by creativity, collaboration, and the quiet magic of two people building something meaningful together. From an intimate ceremony by the waterfall to a joyful after-party rave, every moment reflected a love rooted in thoughtfulness, family, and the beauty of showing up for one another.

Tell us about your experience working with KYNAH.
When it came to finding wedding attire for our Malibu celebration, KYNAH came highly recommended to us by a former member of their team, and from the moment we began exploring their designs, we knew we had found something special. Zaheer and I were in search of pieces that honored his Indian heritage while feeling perfectly at home in the coastal, modern setting of our wedding. We hadn’t yet found clothing that felt like “us”: something that blended Eastern and Western aesthetics, carried the artistry and intricacy of traditional design, yet spoke to our contemporary sensibilities. KYNAH delivered all of that and more.
What stood out to you the most about your outfit from KYNAH? How did you know it was the one for you?
I had actually started getting targeted Matsya ads on Instagram, and I was instantly drawn to a few of their bridal lehengas which were the perfect balance of modern yet intricate, heritage-inspired details. When I discovered that KYNAH carried their line, I was thrilled. It felt serendipitous.
Booking an appointment with KYNAH was effortless, and working with Aisha and the team was great. They made the process feel personal and celebratory, and they were incredibly attentive with the details, especially measurements, which can be so stressful when ordering custom pieces. Even when questions came up, they were patient, precise, and reassuring every step of the way.
Zaheer kept showing up for me in the most beautiful and unexpected ways, always with a thoughtfulness that made me feel deeply seen. A few months later, after a dinner party at his home, something shifted - sparks started to fly, and our friendship blossomed into something more. From then on, we were pretty much inseparable. He and his daughters welcomed me into their family with open arms. It turns out we had so many shared interests - a love of skiing, dancing, meditating and so much more.
When he proposed, it was in the most perfectly “us” way: in Laguna Beach with a key to his house.
What was your favorite part of your wedding? How did you make your wedding personal to you?
We’re both naturally creative and absolutely love planning events, so we were deeply involved in every part of our wedding. From choosing our venue, the magical Calamigos Ranch, to buying or making all the décor and flowers ourselves, it was truly a labor of love. I designed and Zaheer printed all of our invitations through his company, Pacific Nexus, which made them feel extra personal and meaningful.
We also planned every detail of the ceremony together, including writing our vows, and had so much fun collaborating with our DJ to create the perfect music list. Because we poured so much of ourselves into it, every moment felt like a reflection of us, from our intimate ceremony by the waterfall, to our reception, to the after-party wedding rave. What was incredibly special was that Zaheer's daughter, Malia, did my henna for the Mehndi and Gianna, his oldest daughter, made the cake. It was pure magic from start to finish.
