From the day I got engaged, I knew I really wanted to wear saris for all of my wedding events to honor my South Indian heritage. Since I’d be wearing a more traditional red Kanjeevaram silk sari for my ceremony, I wanted something a little more modern for my reception.
My favorite designer is Arpita Mehta, and I initially had my heart set on a gold sari from one of her wedding collections. When that particular style was no longer available, the KYNAH team helped me pivot to a Seema Gujral sari that still captured the modern look I was going for. I also explored pieces from designers like Matsya and Dolly J.
What was the most memorable part of your KYNAH fittings or consultations?
I ordered my outfits online, and KYNAH was so helpful throughout the entire process. They helped me find alternatives that matched my style, kept me updated with photos, and shared different ways I could style each look. It was such a relief, especially since I was a little nervous about doing everything online.
How did you feel putting on your KYNAH outfit for the first time?
Absolutely incredible. When I put on my sari with my mom and my makeup artist, my jaw just dropped. It was the most ethereal look and I really just felt like a true bride!
What is your favorite photo of you in your KYNAH look, and why?
There's a photo of me and my husband during our reception photoshoot in front of the Brooklyn Bridge in Dumbo and its full length, vertical. It's such a jaw-dropping, editorial photo that I had only pictured in my mind. To see it come true was a real treat and a dream come true.

Yes, I already do! I'm the eldest cousin in my family and I've been telling everyone to go to KYNAH. The curation and community is excellent.
