After meeting each other over 8 and a half years ago, Sahithi & Neil instantly connected - and sparks flew more than ever. Not only did the two know each other since they were teenagers, but they managed to always keep in touch leading their friendship to only grow, creating a now beautiful marriage. Talk about marrying your best friend! Their love story is so romantic and inspiring, which of course only had to be celebrated with elegance! Our gorgeous KYNAH bride Sahithi, looked like a princess in the Safe Lehenga! Congratulations to this lovely couple - the KYNAH team couldn't be happier for the both of you.
As said by Sahithi:
How did you hear about KYNAH? How was your experience working with
KYNAH?
I first heard about KYNAH back in the summer of 2021 when there was a KYNAH event in NYC. I remember seeing this event all over social media and
wondering what it was. My friend and I happened to walk past somewhere (the
space where the event was held) and hesitantly walked in to ask if we could
peek around. Aisha was there that day and was so sweet! She shared her
story with us and gave us a chance to check out all the outfits. For me, it was truly amazing to see something like this for Indian brides in the US. I wasn't even engaged at this point, but the thought of one day having to do my wedding shopping in India sounded so overwhelming. Fast forward to the next summer, I had gotten engaged and KYNAH coincidentally had a bridal pop up in NYC that same month. I immediately scheduled an appointment, it was such a fun experience and KYNAH was so great about following up to make
sure I designed and ordered my outfit in time for my wedding.
How did you know the Safa Lehenga was the outfit for you?
I knew I wanted something monochrome and had fallen in love with all of the
Seema Gujral styles KYNAH had to offer. I knew the Safa Lehenga was the outfit for me because of the floral embroidery theme throughout. My reception venue was a greenhouse, so I loved how elegantly the 3 dimensional roses were placed on the lehenga and fit with the garden theme of our venue. I feel really fortunate I had the opportunity to work with Simran- I knew I loved the Safa Lehenga but I wasn't convinced about the color. Simran was so patient with me and got on numerous calls to help me pick the perfect shade that would work with the Safa Lehenga. She gave me her honest opinions, which I truly appreciated. It made me confident that KYNAH was so invested in the outcome and wanted to do everything they could to make sure I would have an outfit that would make me feel my best on my wedding day. The final outcome was more than I ever could have expected, the embroidery and the shade we picked truly popped in the midst of all the greenery.
How did they propose? Tell us more about the relationship!
Neil proposed in Dumbo, Brooklyn right along the East River waterfront. It
was such a perfect day- he coordinated all of our family and friends to surprise me after he proposed. We celebrated at Harriet's Rooftop, a spot we had been planning to check out for a long time! The rest of the night was beautiful, we caught the sunset from the rooftop with all of our closest friends and family. It was so surreal to have all of my people in one place, such a great preview to the wedding weekend! Neil and I met when we were sophomores in college, 8.5 years ago! We both went to the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and moved to New York City when we graduated in 2017. We've truly grown up with each other as we've known each other since we were 19, I still feel like we're the silly young college versions of ourselves at age 28. Absolutely surreal that after all
this time we are finally married!
If you could relive one moment from your wedding day, what would it be?
Definitely our first dance! Neil and I knew long before we got engaged what
song we wanted for our first dance, and it was so special to have that moment come alive. We also had a very specific vision for how we wanted to get all our friends on the dance floor- we faded the first dance track into one of our favorite, most hype songs and told all of our friends to rush on to the dance floor when it came on. Neil and I were so excited about how this specific moment would play out, and it completely exceeded our expectations. So amazing to have all of our friends hype us up!
Do you have any advice for brides/brides to be?
Come prepared with some ideas of what you're looking for and trust your
KYNAH stylist! I am so glad I trusted Simran, she made me feel confident
about my decision and never made me feel stressed about the details. The
process was so seamless, I could not recommend it more!
