A "Say Yes to The Dress" Moment in the All Yours

After being in a long distance relationship with her best friend, Proma made it official with her now-husband, Abid, with two lovely proposals! The first, very much in line with being a pandemic bride, was a proposal over Zoom and the second was along the beautiful beaches of Dubai. The KYNAH team was so happy to hear that her custom All Yours was everything she had envisioned and was a perfect fit for her "Dosas & Mimosas" mehendi ceremony! We wish these two a lifetime of love and happiness!

How was your experience shopping with team KYNAH?
As a pandemic bride, not being able to travel for outfits for our wedding was challenging, but KYNAH made all my bridal dreams come true! During our initial Zoom consults, Aisha was incredibly patient and supportive in aligning with my vision. Working in tandem with Papa Don’t Preach, she created a fun, custom one shoulder blouse and chose the perfect shade of pink. In the months prior to our wedding, I visited the NYC Pop-Up, where Simran was amazing and helped me order a second outfit I fell in love with. My lehenga traveled from India to DC to Bangladesh, just in time for our wedding! Although they probably do not recommend this last minute bride energy, team KYNAH pulled this off for me in record time and I am forever grateful!

What attracted you to the All Yours Lehenga? How did it make you feel?
Although I initially chose the Viola, while searching for a reception outfit at the Pop Up in NYC, I spotted the All Yours. I tried it on just for fun, but ended up having a Say Yes to the Dress moment and fell in love! The two outfits have similar vibes; tulle in pastel shades with gorgeous embellishments, but the All Yours made me feel just a little more sparkle and joy for my big day. The Viola is tucked away waiting for my best friend’s wedding next year!

What was the inspiration behind your wedding theme/aesthetic?
This event, which we called Dosas & Mimosas, was our playful spin on a
mehendi brunch with a “garden disco” theme – incorporating lots of greenery and disco ball decor. Fortunately, our parents supported our decision to embrace certain traditions and do away with ones not meant for us, so I didn't actually put on any mehendi at this brunch! It was important to me that both the mehendi and our nikah be small, outdoor events at my parents’ house, but most of all we wanted it to be fun for our guests and for ourselves.

What was the smartest thing you did while planning your wedding?
Tempering expectations! It’s important to not get too caught up in the smaller details and enjoy your own events. Speaking from experience, you can’t stress over things not going according to plan because no one will notice but you, that being said, feeling seen and heard by your planner is paramount. Our wonderful planner and her team worked till late the night before our events, being patient with my micromanaging and bringing my vision to life.

How did you meet your husband? Tell us a little bit about your relationship.
Abid & I have known each other since middle school! Over the years, he’s been so many things to me; my friend, best friend, boyfriend, fiancé and now my husband, but he still remains my best friend and absolute rock, first and foremost. After three years of long distance across oceans, from DC to Dhaka, he proposed (on Zoom! Really leaning in to pandemic bride life). We had an intimate dinner with our parents to seal the deal and that was it….or so I thought, until he surprised me with a romantic beachside proposal in Dubai. We both agree being married to your best friend is everything we dreamed of and more – except when we argue about the thermostat.
