We are so excited to share the gorgeous wedding of Rabia Meghani, a real KYNAH Bride in Houston, TX wearing the Ziyah Lehenga. We worked together to create the perfect day-to-evening bridal look!
What was the inspiration behind your wedding theme/aesthetic?
The inspiration behind our wedding theme was a combination of my husband, Miraj and me - minimal, intimate and surrounded by nature. We both aim to live consciously and sustainably so the reception was kept during the day on a beautiful lawn overlooking the water. We incorporated greenery on our tables and passed out succulents as wedding favors. Our goal was to create a day filled with love and nature and we were grateful enough to do just that!
Why did you choose the Ziyah Lehenga for your look?
While browsing for outfits I came across the Ziyah Lehenga and immediately thought, “this is it.” It was elegant, graceful, timeless and fun all at the same time. I continued my search as the months went on but, always came back to the Ziyah. There was something about it that I could not let go of. I wore the stunning outfit for my reception day and as I stepped out as Miraj’s wife, I felt so incredibly beautiful. Wearing that lehenga on my big day was the best decision I had made throughout the entire process, (besides saying “yes” of course!)
What were you most looking forward to on your big day?
I was really looking forward to seeing my vision for this wedding come to life. Months and months of hard work went into making this wedding a reality and the anticipation of finally watching it all unfold the way it had been in my mind was what I wanted more than anything. Not only did it turn out the way Miraj and I were anticipating, but it was also so much more than that!
If you had to choose one moment from your wedding day, what would it be?
There was a moment where Miraj and I were getting photos taken in front of a grass wall where we had placed a sign that said: “it was always you”. Miraj and I met when we were in elementary school and we are each other’s first and only loves. Standing underneath that sign as husband and wife felt so surreal and like a moment out of a storybook. It was definitely my favorite moment from that day.
If you could’ve invited one celebrity to your wedding, who would it have been?
I’m a huge Bollywood fan so I would have to say Aamir Khan! He loves to dance, advocates for sustainability and is a vegetarian just like me!
Given the chance to do it all again, you would…
EAT THE FOOD! It sounds so silly but with all the madness going on around you, you forget to enjoy the little elements of your wedding that you put so much work into organizing. So to my future brides that are reading this: eat the food at your wedding! You will constantly hear, “it was so good” so be sure to indulge in it yourself.
