What stood out to you the most about your outfit from KYNAH? How did you know it was the one for you?
For my Welcome Night lehenga, the beautiful pearl beadwork and the one-shoulder dupatta really stood out to me. It was stunning and so unique; it looked like a modern-day Desi Cinderella moment. I knew instantly it was the perfect outfit for the evening. As for my Haldi lehenga, it was literally named The Haldi Lehenga, and I loved the vibrant yellow color and the boho feel. The shell and beadwork details were gorgeous and aligned perfectly with the vision I had for the event.
On our first date, my now-husband and I met in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, for coffee. I was living in Brooklyn Heights at the time, and he was in Jersey City. We’re both big coffee enthusiasts and grabbed a cup at this amazing coffee shop called Devoción. We talked for hours at Domino Park nearby and ended the night with pizza. Three years later, he recreated that first date and proposed in Domino Park, right where our journey began.
What was your favorite part of your wedding? How did you make the wedding personal to you?
I absolutely loved the ceremony. We wanted a tropical feel since I’m from Florida, which is why we hosted the wedding back in my home state. We kept the vibe simple, romantic, and tropical; and it turned out exactly as we envisioned. Our pandit was incredible at explaining each part of the ceremony, and our guests were completely engaged. There were moments where they were chanting and actively participating, which made it so special. We also chose to read personal vows aloud, which added a modern element to our Hindu ceremony. I remember looking out at our loved ones and just taking it all in—it meant the world to be surrounded by those who matter most.
