Did you have a "this is the one" moment when you saw or tried on your KYNAH outfit?
Yes, though it did not really feel like a decision. I had been doing the responsible thing, making list after list and comparing cuts and colors the way you are supposed to, lol, at least with my research background. Then I saw this Seema Gujral piece, and the comparing just stopped. I feel like once you find the "one," it stops being an option among many and becomes the standard everything else gets measured against. That is basically what happened.
I kept telling myself red was the obvious choice because red is what is expected, what gets worn without much questioning. But the moment I saw her antique gold lehenga, that expectation lost its hold.
What was the most memorable part of your KYNAH fittings or consultations?
Gauri was such a sweetheart! She was kind, affirming, and advocated for my feelings when I doubted them. The collections were stunning, and the entire process was super easy!
How did you feel putting on your KYNAH outfit for the first time?
Honestly, beautiful. It was not only that I felt pretty in it, although I did. It was also seeing myself through everyone else, my husband’s face, my friends, and my parents, all looking at me with smiles and sparkly eyes, and realizing that feeling was being reflected back at me from every direction at once.
What is your favorite photo of you in your KYNAH look, and why?
We have only gotten our preview shots back, so it is a tie right now. Emotionally, it is between the photo of my husband, Burhan, and me walking back after the wedding, because there is something to be said about the gratitude one feels after being surrounded by the people you love, and the one of us dancing, where he is lifting me.
We danced so much that night, and the lehenga was so heavy that I could not walk properly for two weeks afterward, but none of that shows in the picture. Close behind those are the photo of me crying during my dad’s speech, my hairstylist fixing my hair, and my friends walking me down the aisle.

The process was super easy, and Gauri, as I said before, was wonderful.
