Shimmering in the Sobia and Saffron

Shimmering in the Sobia and Saffron
After being together for eight years, this couple was bound to be endgame. Their traditional Indian wedding was so dreamy, not only because of how beautiful everything was, but also because Pranali and Anjay were surrounded by their loved ones - truly the best wedding you can have! Our bride, Pranali, looked like a gem in the Sobia and Saffron Lehengas! We LOVE this wedding! Congratulations to this lovely couple - the KYNAH team is honored to have been a part of your special day! We wish you all the love and happiness in the world.

How was your experience with your KYNAH team?
10 out of 10! The KYNAH team is attentive, personable, helpful, and all around amazing! I had my eyes and heart set on KYNAH's Seema Gujral lehengas since I started planning my wedding and luckily was able to snag an appointment at their LA pop-up in March 2021. The KYNAH team had already earmarked the lehengas I said, prior to my appointment, that I had caught my eye. Aisha offered her expert suggestions and emphasized the ability to customize colors and blouse styles to fit my personal style and wedding event aesthetic. My mom and sister were so impressed by the professionalism and kindness of the team. Fast forward a few months, I had only decided one of my lehengas. Scrolling on the KYNAH IG account, I noticed they had a ton of new styles that matched what I was looking for to wear to my reception. The team was able to sneak me in on short notice when I was only in town for 48 hours. Given my condensed timeline, Sahar, Simran and Aisha were all responsive and provided frequent updates for my swatches, blouse customizations and measurements. The KYNAH pop-ups and overall experience was the best and made my wedding shopping stress-free, I highly recommend working with the KYNAH team!

How did the Sobia Lehenga & Saffron Lehenga make you feel? What was it about them that made you say "Yes!"?
I remember seeing the Saffron Lehenga online and thinking I had to wear this for one of my wedding events! Trying it on at the pop-up solidified that feeling. I was able to customize it to my style with the color and add a feminine touch to it with the off the shoulder tassel sleeves. Even though my mehendi night was a ladies only event in my parents backyard, I knew I wanted to wear something fun, festive and standout, and the Saffron Lehenga was definitely that! I felt so confident and beautiful in the Saffron Lehenga, and my friends and family were blown away, it may have been my favorite look! The Sobia Lehenga was the perfect outfit to wear at my reception! It made me feel elegant, yet sexy and glamourous. I remember trying on 5-6 different outfits and not feeling quite right, but the second I tried the Sobia lehenga, I knew that was the one. It was classy and timeless. The dusty blues and soft pink florals gave the outfit a romantic and dreamy vibe that complemented our reception decor in all the right ways! Customizing the blouse and adding the belt gave it a personal element and kept me secure to dance all night long!!

What was your favorite part of planning your wedding?
Planning an Indian wedding is no walk in the park, but I can say it was a ton of fun to do with our friends and family! Some of the highlights for me included curating playlists with my sister, DIY-ing at home decor with my extended family, late night menu planning with my parents, venting to friends about the inevitable planning drama, designing our invitations and website with my husband. Even though in the moment there were frustrations at times, looking back at our wedding, I can't help but smile when thinking about the time leading up to the wedding spent with our loved ones. Anjay and I made it a priority to add personal elements to our wedding that made it feel like us. Another amazing part of the planning process were our fantastic vendors (like KYNAH!). Given COVID and multiple postponements, Anjay and I were weary at times, but our wedding weekend went on without a hitch (mostly). And this was thanks to our vendors!
The Bride and Groom Sharing their First Dance
What was your favorite moment from your wedding?
There are so many moments that are unforgettable from our wedding week. If I had to pick, I'd say there are two: 1. The ceremony - We had so much fun during our ceremony! Nilesh uncle (our priest) kept things light, interactive and on schedule. It was one of the few times in the weekend that we weren't thinking about the to-do list and were truly in the moment. During the ceremony, I looked around in awe of what was around me (all our loved ones, the breathtaking venue, the mandap of my dreams) and thought of everything we'd accomplished that week! As the ceremony ended and Anjay and I walked out, we looked at each other with a sigh of relief and feeling of excitement, we were married and ready to party the night away! 2. The reception - The reception was so much fun! My husband and I did a slow and fast paced combo for our first dance using a mix my sister had made by one of my fav musical artists (Dr. Srimix). Anjay is not as much of a dancer as I am, but he seriously crushed it and I loved every moment of it! The rest of the program consisted of amazing dances from both sets of cousins and all of our friends (with me making a surprise experience). Our sisters and best friends made us ugly cry and cry from
laughter with their epic speeches. Anjay and I felt so celebrated and loved!

How did he propose?
In April 2019, Anjay and I went hiking at the Lands' End Trail in San Francisco (a hike we'd done a few times together before) under the pretense that my sister, his sister and brother-in-law were in town and wanted to do something different. I was clueless the entire time. At the end of the trail, at the lookout point, his sister suggested Anjay and I take a picture and I tried to wave my sister into it. As I went to pose, he got down on one knee and proposed!! Anjay was able to completely surprise me, which after 8 years together he had learned was very hard to do! After saying yes (obviously), we spent the evening at an intimate dinner with both our parents and siblings at one of my favorite Italian restaurants. About a month later, he rented out my favorite arcade bar in SF and hosted an amazing night of partying, drinks and food with all our friends!
