Stress less and live in the moment, Pooja Shah reminds us of when planning your big day! A love that traveled across countries, Pooja and her now husband finally tied to knot and could not have looked more in love! For their inter-city reception, Pooja gracefully embraced Seema Gujral's Tarini Lehenga. The KYNAH team was thrilled to be part of perfecting her big day! Congrats to these newly weds, we wish them a lifetime of love & happiness!
How was your experience shopping with Team KYNAH?
I walked into the NYC pop-up for KYNAH with no real sense of what I wanted or what I was looking for and immediately upon meeting Aisha I felt reassured. I gave her some general thoughts I was having and she pulled out a few options for me to try. The whole experience was seamless and exciting. Once I committed to the dress, I felt like the customer service was great and they were genuinely invested in helping me perfect sizing and the overall fit.
What about the Tarini Lehenga were you drawn to?
Elegance. When I saw the Tarini Lehenga, I was obsessed with the monochrome
navy blue color and I loved how graceful it looked when I put it on. I also really liked the tassels because I thought it was a fun element to an otherwise regal outfit.
What was the vision for your reception ceremony?
Though my husband and I were getting married in London, we both met in NYC so we knew that we wanted to bring elements of our mutual love for the Big Apple to the UK. Our reception was themed "Across the Pond"- we made coasters that showed the London/NYC skyline, we had cookie favors that portrayed our wedding date in the NYC Subway fonts, we walked out to Alicia Keys/Jay Z's "Empire State of Mind" and our seating chart displayed each table as a different NYC landmark or location. We both wore navy blue to embody old school NYC vibes. I knew I wanted classy and elegant to be our reception vibe.
Given the chance to do it all again, you would…
Stress less! I know it's easier said than done and every couple stresses over each minute detail, but in the end it truly doesn't matter when all of your friends and family who love you are there to celebrate with you. In retrospect I could have slept a lot more and incurred fewer grays if I worried less about how everything would turn out. It was a magical week and I wish I could do it all over again. I mean, there's a five year anniversary to look forward to, right...
What were you most looking forward to on your big day?
Besides of course celebrating with all of our friends/family who traveled to London for us, I was really excited to give my husband his wedding gift. He's an avid Arsenal football fan, so I managed to get a signed letter from the Arsenal manager on behalf of the entire team to congratulate us on our wedding! I gave him the letter and displayed it at the reception for our guests to see and he was moved to tears! I will never forget that moment because I know how much it meant to him.
