A Haldi For History

A Haldi For History
This beautiful multicultural Haldi ceremony truly amazed us how magical and romantic it was! The nature views, the colors, the aesthetics, and most importantly - the adorable couple we love! Everything came together as the two shared a special and intimate Haldi surrounded by their loved ones. The two lovebirds met on Dilmil, a popular dating platform for South Asians, and it all came in full circle ever since. Our gorgeous KYNAH bride Tisa, looked like a royal queen in the Sand Hand Embroidered Sharara Set by Arpita Mehta - truly a gem! Congratulations to this lovely couple - the KYNAH team is honored to have been a part of your big day! We wish you both all the love and happiness in the world.
As said by Tisa:
How did you hear about KYNAH? How was your experience working with
KYNAH? What was your favorite part about your KYNAH Experience?
I came across KYNAH on my instagram. I’ve been following their page for a
while now. My fondest memories working with KYNAH come from when I did a
bridal try on appointment with KYNAH at their pop up in New York. It was the very first experience for me trying on so many different outfits, getting hyped
with my friends around… it was so much fun. It was also high efficient
because there were so many options and designers to chose from. We were
treated so well and even went beyond our time because we were having so
much fun playing dress up. I left with a lot of inspiration.
How does the Sand Hand Embroidered Sharara Set reflect you as an individual?
The outfit I picked for my Haldi was a KYNAH ready to ship piece by Arpita Mehra. It was elegant and simple. I wanted to be an effortless bride. Someone who didn’t have to try hard. And my outfit reflects that. The ivory, the mirror work all came together to give me a very breezy, carefree, effortless look which I loved! In fact, this was actually my third order for an outfit! I ordered my first outfit which I hated - it had too much cancan, in a moment of panic I took a pair of scissors and chopped it off further ruining the dress, the second outfit was a made to order but the lehenga was too short. Both of these were from a different company. At the end, I came to KYNAH to save the day with my perfect outfit and oh my it was meant to be!
How did they propose? Tell us more about the relationship!
We’re a dilmil couple! He was in Chicago and I was in Philly. We matched and I told him that unless you’re committed to travel to see me, this ain’t gonna work. And then onwards, we began dating! For an entire year before we moved in together, he traveled every weekend to see me first in Philly then in New York. We dated for 5.5 years and finally got married. The proposal was a dream. It was at The Edge in New York. He got all our friends to travel to New York to surprise me. It was magical!
If you could relive one moment from your wedding day, what would it be?
If I could relieve one moment from my wedding day it would be my walk down
the aisle. It all happened so fast! I nearly teared when I saw him waiting for me. We didn’t do a first look. It was a Bengali wedding and our first look is the Shubo Drishti at the mandap. So when I looked up beyond the paan covering my face and saw him, it was a very emotional moment.
What is one think you wish you knew before you started planning your wedding?
That it was going to be extremely exhausting and expensive! Oh my!
If you could pick a song that represents you and your partner, what would it be and why?
Maan mast magan- 2 states.
He’s South Indian I’m Bengali. It was a beautiful ceremony where we
corporated elements of both traditions. I still wear the South Indian mangalsutra he gave me. We had South Indian food after the ceremony. We followed Bengali rituals during the ceremony. We wore our Bengali topors through out the entire ceremony which my parents brought with them for us from Bangladesh.
