Sima in KYNAH: A Love Story Written in Color

Sima’s love story is one filled with joy, intention, and moments that make you smile long after they’ve passed. From a winter wonderland proposal atop a snowy Utah mountain to celebrating her engagement in a lehenga that made her feel confident and radiant, every step of her journey felt deeply personal. Working closely with the KYNAH team, Sima found an outfit that reflected not only her style but the happiness she carried into this new chapter. As she and Vishal came together to honor both of their cultures, Sima’s celebration became a beautiful reflection of love, family, and the moments that truly matter.

Tell us about your experience working with KYNAH.
Working with Maya at KYNAH was a dream! She listened to all my thoughts and ideas about how I wanted my lehenga to look like and found me the most amazing outfit! When I tried it on, I knew this was a beautiful piece. It made me feel beautiful on the inside and outside. She guided me through the entire progress and helped me get ready for my wedding engagement shoot.

What stood out to you the most about your outfit from KYNAH? How did you know it was the one for you?
I just knew it the minute I put it on. When I saw myself in the mirror, I had the biggest smile! Also, seeing my best friend's reaction when I stepped out of the changing room said it all. We were both smiling! The colors on my outfit and the delicate details were just incredible. It made me feel so happy and confident!

My husband (so much fun to say it!), Vishal, proposed in December 2024 in Salt Lake City, Utah. I always wanted to experience a true winter wonderland so he suggested that we spend the holidays in Utah. I was thrilled! After 2 years of dating, I had a sneaky suspicion that he would propose while on the trip. I was convinced he would propose during a dinner, but he surprised me on a hike. To be honest, I wanted him to cancel the hike, but now I know he had a hidden agenda. I'm glad he got me to go! It was the most amazing and well thought out proposal. We were on a hike with a guide climbing up this mountain. I, of course, thought he would never propose on a hike when I was sweating and had snot coming out of my nose, lol. Well, after what seemed like hours, we finally reached the top of the mountain and rested in the yurt. After a few minutes of resting, he suggested that we go back outside to heat our hands by the fire pit. I was so tired from all the hiking and just wanted to rest. He eventually convinced me to go outside to which he got on one knee and asked me to marry him. He, until this day, says I never said yes and instead told him to "put the ring on." I'm pretty sure I said yes. It was the sweetest moment, just the two of us... and the hiking guide. It just so beautiful to be surrounded by the brightest snow and my then fiancé!

What was your favorite part of your wedding? How did you make your wedding personal to you?
Besides marrying the love of my life, my favorite part was my dance with my dad. I felt like time slowed down and I was that little girl dancing with my dad again. His big smile and the way he moved his body will always be etched in my mind.

Vishal and I celebrated both our cultures through each individual ceremony. We had a Hindu and Zoroastrian ceremony that united us together as husband and wife. Both ceremonies were beautiful and represent us.

What is one thing you wish you knew before you started planning your wedding? 

Besides the surprise of how expensive every little thing will be, I would say how many decisions we would have to make along the way. There are big decisions like where to have the wedding and then there are the little decisions of what color should the napkins be? There were many things to consider along the way!

If you and your husband could have invited any celebrity to your wedding, who would it be and why?

Hands down, David Beckham! Vishal is a huge soccer (or should I say football) fan and it would have been incredible to have him there to celebrate with us. Vishal has been a soccer fan for many, many years and probably would have loved to kick a soccer ball around with Beckham!
