A Modern Take on a Traditional Look

A Modern Take on a Traditional Look
The best kinds of weddings are the ones full of love and intimacy. Our KYNAH bride Sejal and her husband Suraj, made sure to celebrate a beautiful wedding surrounded by their loved ones! After Suraj proposed to Sejal in the same place where they first met, Bryant Park, it was clear that their love is inevitable! Sejal looked absolutely stunning in Seema Gujral's Ara Lehenga, giving a traditional feel to her wedding. Congratulations to this lovely couple - the KYNAH team is so happy to be a part of your special day. We wish you all the love and happiness!

How was your experience working with the KYNAH team?
Believe it or not my entire order was placed via email! There were no virtual appointments available so the KYNAH team kindly offered to help me through email and it was such a smooth experience. They were so responsive and transparent about what customizations were possible and made sure I was 100% happy with the final product prior to shipping. I highly recommend going down this route if you know exactly what you're looking for and I will for sure be doing it again for future orders.

What about the Ara caught your attention?
I knew from the start I didn't want to wear red for my ceremony, but I still wanted to incorporate the traditional color into my wedding day and the Ara lehenga was perfect! I tried on the lehenga at the first KYNAH pop-up in NYC and absolutely fell in love with it. The bold shade of red and intricate sequin flower detail was just stunning. I even went wedding shopping in India and placed my order immediately after returning to the US because I couldn't stop thinking about it!

If there was one moment from your wedding day you could go back to, what would it be?
One thing I was very adamant about from the beginning was having my own Bridal Baraat. And not just a quick debut at the end but my own start-to-finish parade (because why do Grooms get to have all the fun right?). My favorite moment had to be when both our baraat cars met in the middle and joined together into one massive 400 person party outside of the venue. It was truly a magical moment seeing both sides celebrate together as one big family, exactly what we wanted our wedding day to be about.

How did you and your husband meet? How did he propose?
My husband Suraj and I met on the dating app Hinge. He was actually the only date I ever went on using the app, so I guess it works! For the proposal he took it back to where it all started, right in front of the Bryant Park fountain in NYC where we met for our first date. It didn't click until I saw photos of us propped up on easels with the words "Marry Me". He even had a surprise engagement party with all of our friends waiting for us back home! It was such a special day and more than anything I could have hoped for.

Do you have any advice for soon-to-be brides you wish you would have known?
Don't sweat the small stuff! I consider myself to be a difficult person and was able to have a stress-free wedding day because of it. Categorize your checklist with priorities such as "Need to Have" "Want to Have" and "Nice to Have" in that order. By the time our wedding came around, we didn't even remember what the "Nice to Have" items were. There will always be something else you can add or do, so just focus on what you value the most.
