The Ginger Lehenga Comes to the Rescue

The Ginger Lehenga Comes to the Rescue
The lovely Rani Bhatt wore the Ginger Lehenga for her Garba ceremony and could not have looked more beautiful! Both bride and groom, from a small town in Georgia, tied the knot in seven separate ceremonies celebrating both Hindu and Christian traditions. The KYNAH team was thrilled to be there for her last minute outfit change! Congratulations, we wish these two Georgians a lifetime of love, happiness and prosperity!

What was your experience like shopping with KYNAH?
The process with KYNAH was seamless! I had my eye on the Ginger Lehenga after my original outfit for my Garba event fell through from India. I ordered the Ginger lehenga online just two months before my event, and had a great experience customizing the outfit to my size via text by one of the KYNAH girls! She provided everything I needed down to every last detail. Once the order was completely finalized, I then received text updates on the progress of my outfit. Purchasing an Indian outfit online for your wedding can be very nerve wracking, but KYNAH eased my nerves and made me feel more than confident with my decision!

How did the Ginger Lehenga Make you feel?
The Ginger Lehenga made me feel so beautiful, chic and elegant! The outfit was perfect for me. From the corset-style blouse with the thin spaghetti straps to the beautiful lace detail work throughout! I loved how simple and light it was, but still made such a statement. The zipper in the back of the blouse with the pockets in the lehenga also gave me the subtle edginess I wanted. The color really stood out and made me feel like a princess all night. Many people at the Garba kept telling me I reminded them of a Bollywood version of Belle and I felt exactly like that!

What's one piece of advice you have for other brides/brides-to-be?
Stay true to yourself & don't overstress the small details. It is so easy for brides to compare themselves to others and try to have the best of the best, but it's so important to stay grounded and remember to do what's best for you. The most important part of this day is not about what your friends and family will think of your outfits, décor, food, music, or the venue, but it’s about what they’re truly there for, which is to celebrate the love and happiness between you and your partner. Always ensure you’re prioritizing both yours and your partner's happiness throughout the process & everything else will just fall into place.

How did he propose?
Thomas proposed to me in July of 2019, after 9 years of dating, in our hometown Augusta, GA. I thought we were going home just like it was a normal weekend visiting our parents. The plan was for both families (who commonly get together) to take a sunset cruise with cheese & wine on Thomas’ parent’s boat on the lake and then go to dinner afterwards. Both sets of family were on the boat. Right when the sun was setting in the most beautiful spot, both families decided to take pictures. When it was mine and Thomas’ turn, Thomas took my hand and bent the knee! After many tears were shed, pictures were taken, and the champagne was popped, we headed back towards Thomas’ parent’s lakehouse. On the way there, I was again surprised with fireworks and below them were a group of our close friends at a dock across the lake from his parent’s. They were holding signs and cheering and more tears were again shed. Approaching the lakehouse, I was surprised with more of our close friends who were cheering and jumping for joy! It was the most special proposal I could’ve ever imagined and we were able to share our excitement with those who have been a part of our love story in one way or another!

What was the inspiration behind your wedding theme/aesthetic?
Thomas and I are both from Augusta, GA. There is a lot of beautiful greenery around where we both grew up. I wanted to incorporate a good amount of greenery along with white florals, pampas grass, and golds to keep it chic and elegant. We had about 7 events as part of our weekend combining both the Christian and Hindu traditions. All events were full of whites, golds, blush pinks and greenery. The Garba was our most colorful event. We were inspired to have this event showcase Thomas' personality. He loves Carolina blue, so we incorporated that with other pastels along with cherry blossoms above the Radha & Krishna murtis! He also loves the Grateful Dead, so we had his grooms cake created full of Grateful Dead details! Our reception was more formal with golds, whites, black and greenery in addition to our star-lit dance floor! We wanted everyone to feel their best and celebrate the joining of two different cultures! Needless to say, the dance floor was never empty & everyone did just that!
