Rustic and Chic, and Everything In Between

Rustic and Chic, and Everything In Between
This dreamy wedding had all the stars aligned in the sky that night! This couple's wedding had a rustic chic vibe along with fall-themed colors and elements that truly embraced what they aspired to have at their dream wedding! After a sweet proposal on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, their connection was bound to flourish ever since and did! Our gorgeous KYNAH bride Dhanya, looks like a gem in the Skyla Lehenga. Congratulations to this lovely couple - the KYNAH team is honored to have been a part of your special day!
As said by Dhanya:

How did you hear about KYNAH? How was your experience working with KYNAH?
I originally heard about KYNAH from one of my best friends who knew Aisha. KYNAH particularly stood out to me because the pieces looked so luxurious and unique, yet were at an accessible price point. Never in a million years did I think I'd be an owner of a custom Seema Gujral piece! I worked with Simran on a virtual consult, and from beginning to end every detail was taken care of. The process was very straight forward, there were no hidden loopholes, and when I received my outfit it fit like a dream. It was such a memorable outfit, that months later, people are still asking me about it.
What about the Skyla Lehenga stood out to you? How did you know it was the one?
I always knew I wanted my reception lehenga to be a dark green monochromatic look. When I did my virtual consult with Simran, she explained the detailing behind the Skyla lehenga - particularly the 3D tassels and circular bead work. Even when made in dark green with custom detailing, you can distinctly see the circular beadwork and I fell in love with it. It was cool to see my vision come to life, especially knowing that a designer handmade this specifically for me. I had multiple people, including my vendor squad tell me they had never seen such a unique reception lehenga before!
What was your wedding aesthetic?
Our wedding was in Virginia during the fall, and our venue had a lot of southern charm, so we wanted to make sure we stayed within the dreamy rustic chic vibe. We had gone to so many big, Indian weddings at this point that we wanted something different. We kept the color scheme to fall colors - sage greens, browns, and made sure to layer it for more depth with darker accent colors like cranberry, copper and evergreen. We took our photos in this gorgeous battlefield park with rolling hills, and our bridal party blended perfectly into the fall backdrop. When people entered our ballroom, we kept it dreamy with the starry night backdrop and darker colors - our DJ even projected stars to take it one step further. The venue had chandeliers and columns, as well as string lights along the outdoor portion so we really leaned into the dreamy rustic chic vibe.
How did he propose? Tell us more about your relationship!
We met through our mutual best friend, who I grew up with and he coincidentally went to college with. We had our first date to see American Sniper in 2015, and 1 month later he pulled a rose out of his backpack and asked me to be his girlfriend, the rest is history! We moved to the DMV area about 3 years ago, and the move really took our relationship to the next level. I always wanted a simple, scenic proposal and he did just that. He proposed to me at sunrise at the most beautiful spot in DC - at the steps of the Lincoln Memorial with a sunrise view of the George Washington monument. The proposal was exactly what I wanted, simple and meaningful, and brought our relationship full circle to where we first decided to build our lives together.
Do you have any advice for brides and brides-to-be?
Go with the flow! Take one day at a time, and check things off your list as they come. The bigger things won't stress you out as much as the little details will, so TRUST me - take care of these details right then and there, instead of waiting for each task to pile up. The actual wedding weekend will go by in the blink of an eye, take mental pictures of what's happening around from time to time and take it all in!
