My experience working with KYNAH was a dream! We started planning our wedding only about five months before the wedding date, and we didn’t want to compromise quality on any of the elements of our wedding—especially the outfits. I spent a lot of time talking with my husband’s parents about the different Indian events that we wanted for our celebrations and did a lot of research on Indian fashion and wedding designers to really understand what kind of looks I wanted for each of our events. KYNAH came up again and again as the place to go for US-based brides and anyone in need of Indian apparel in the US, and it was only a quick flight down from the Bay Area.
When I tried on the Aisha Rao lehenga, it totally encapsulated how fun and colorful I envisioned our Mehendi party to be, and I knew that it had to be my outfit for the party.
It’s impossible to pick just one memory—so many of them are just being with our family and friends for days packed with events and everyone having so much fun with each other! One that sticks out from our reception is when we had Nihal Singh and his team of Dhol drummers come out as a surprise performance at our reception. The energy of the room multiplied by a million and my husband and I felt like we were on top of the world dancing with everyone and the live music!
We had a different aesthetic for each event ! For the Mehendi, where I wore the Aisha Rao lehenga, the theme was colorful, fun, and contemporary Indian. Dodie from Eucharis, Inc. decorated my husband’s parents’ house with millions of colorful flowers, furniture, and other Indian-inspired decor, we had stations of different Indian food for people to eat for dinner, and we had Nihal Singh complement the DJ with tabla playing in front of the dance floor.
