I stopped at the KYNAH boutique in LA for a quick visit while I was there for a research conference. I wasn't expecting to walk away with my reception lehenga, but absolutely fell in love with the Sasha lehenga and had to have it! The stylist was super helpful in helping me find what I wanted during my appointment, and all the staff afterwards were super thorough during the ordering process to make sure I got exactly what I wanted!
What stood out to you the most about your outfit from KYNAH? How did you know it was the one for you?
I loooved the Sasha lehenga! I was wearing a very traditional red silk saree for my ceremony, and wanted something completely different for our reception. I had my heart set on an ivory lehenga, and knew the Sasha was the one once I tried it on. I loved all the intricate work and details on it, especially all the floral patterns.
Varun & I met in college and started dating when we were only 19! We've been together for almost a decade, and have really seen each other grow up. He surprised me with a weekend trip to Sausalito and proposed to me with a picnic set up right by Golden Gate Bridge Park; I was genuinely not expecting it!
What was your favorite part of your wedding? How did you make the wedding personal to you?
Varun & I are actually an interfaith couple! I come from a Bangladeshi-Muslim family, while he comes from a Telugu-Hindu background. We were so so lucky to have parents that supported us and our relationship, and respected our differences. We ended up having a very fusion wedding ceremony that was light, short, and sweet to honor both of our cultures.
If you and your husband could have invited any celebrity to your wedding, who would it be and why?
I would love to have Kendrick Lamar perform at our wedding. I think that would probably be the best musical guest we could have!
