An Intimate Celebration in Bloom

An Intimate Celebration in Bloom
When one plan falls through, an even better plan arrises. This beautiful couple had high expectations for their wedding events, but due to the pandemic, they had to switch things up a bit. Their haldi was celebrated at the place that mattered the most - home. Being at home not only with each other, but also surrounded by their loved ones really made this event more special than ever! Our gorgeous KYNAH bride Sukhveen, looks stunning in the Yellow Nayana Dhoti Outfit. Congratulations to this lovely couple - we couldn't be more happier!

How was your experience working with KYNAH?
My experience working with KYNAH was so effortless. I had an outfit that I bought from India pre-pandemic for my Vatna/Haldi ceremony. Two years later, I did not feel like it was the right fit for the event any longer. However, I came to that realization about 15 days before my event with no time to order an outfit from India. KYNAH was amazing at responding promptly via Instagram about sizing and the outfit was shipped out quickly as well. My dhoti suit came wrapped beautifully and it fit like a glove.

What about the Yellow Nayana Dhoti Outfit caught your eye?
I wanted something very comfortable for this event as it was one of the more laid back, more intimate events. Yellow is a difficult color and I do not find myself gravitating towards yellow outfits usually, but when I saw this outfit I knew it was the perfect shade for the event. The peplum kameez coupled with the dhoti just elevated the whole look. The gota and work on the kameez was even more beautiful in person.

What was the theme/aesthetics of your event?
I was going for a festive, colorful vibe.

How did he propose? Tell us a little about your relationship :)
Tegh & I have been together since 2011 and engaged since 2017! The proposal included a whole-day itinerary of all our favorite NYC places. We started out by having lunch at Thai Villa. At the end of the lunch, we were picked up by a Rolls Royce (he loves cars and of course had to include a fancy car!). As soon as the car came, I knew what was happening and was so excited. We were driven around to a few different places. The entire day I just kept wondering WHEN it would happen. Pit stop after pit stop - I was impatiently waiting and decided to just enjoy where the day takes me. We stopped at Laduree for my favorite rose macarons. I thought he would propose there, but I was wrong again. We went to the next destination - crossed over the Brooklyn Bridge. Then, we went for a walk to what would be the final destination. He hired a proposal planner to decorate a spot near Jane's Carousel with roses and tealights. He proposed with our families and friends by our side. It was truly a special moment! The celebrations continued all night with the family and friends! The next day he asked me if I wanted to get proposed to again because he had a whole back up proposal for Rockefeller Center ice skating booked out as well because he couldn't decide which proposal he wanted to do! We had originally planned for a destination wedding in Thailand for April 2020, but Covid made that impossible. We had all of our outfits ready, invites sent out, and guests had booked tickets. We waited for a while to see if things would improve but decided it was not safe, so we re-planned a destination wedding in Mexico. However, as soon as we planned for this wedding the delta variant was announced. We decided that it was just safer to stay local and have a big fat Long Island Wedding, even though it was not what we had envisioned. It turned out to be the best time ever with all of our family and friends by our side. Safe to say that we are expert wedding planners with three weddings planned out!

Do you have any advice to give brides/brides-to-be?
Not everything will be 100% the way you envision it, but trust the process and learn to just enjoy the moment. I was VERY stressed the few weeks before my wedding. I was burnt out while on rotations. My wedding week was my one week off in the year. I had a huge exam Friday and my wedding events started Saturday. I had no time to unwind and relax, but the wedding week turned out to be the least stressful time ever. I was just on auto-pilot, cruising through the week and enjoying every moment possible!
