An Unconventional Twist at Mount Palomar

Nothing dreamier than Jessica Aynapudi in the Israt & Wendy Lehengas surrounded by the beauty of Mount Palomar's rolling hills and mesa lands! The KYNAH team was honored to play a small part in perfecting this intimate ethereal wedding - we loved hearing how wonderful her experience was with us! Congrats to this lovely couple! As said by Jessica:

How was your experience shopping with Team KYNAH?
My experience shopping with Team KYNAH for my sangeet and reception lehengas was wonderful. The process from beginning to end was seamless. Aisha and the team were supportive and had an interactive approach when getting to know me and my vision for my wedding events. I appreciated their guidance when making customizations and appreciated their diligence with keeping the process within our timeline. After visiting several stores and websites for potential Indian wedding attire, I found that the selection at KYNAH is unmatched. The modern designs with traditional elements, along with an accesible shopping experience, made KYNAH the perfect choice.

Why were your drawn to the Israt and Wendy Lehengas? How did they make you feel?
I was immediately drawn to the Wendy Lehenga for my Sangeet because of the bright blue color and unique floral pattern. I knew the sparkle from the sequins would be stunning under the stars at our outdoor event at Dragon Point Villa, a modern villa atop acres of fruit groves. Paired with an iconic make up look by Jessi of team DolledupbyLulu, I felt like a modern day Cleopatra. The photos of us while I am wearing the Wendy are some of my favorite of all the events.

I originally wanted to wear a red lehenga for the reception since I was not planning to wear red during the wedding ceremony. I was finalizing a beautiful Seema Gujral Lehenga when the new Noori collection was released. I immediately fell in love with the drama and glamour of the Israt Lehenga. Fortunately Kynah, added the Israt soon after. I knew that it would be the perfect lehenga for a dark romantic look. The deep shades and floral applique are showstopping and were the perfect juxtaposition to the pastel shades I wore for the ceremony. The modern and contemporary design fit the vision I had for wearing something unqiue and had the “wow” factor that I desired. I heard the word “regal” many times throughout the night! I could not have asked for more for a more epic final look to end our wedding events.

On the days of and since, I have received innumerable compliments on the Wendy and Israt Lehengas. I will always remember how beautiful I felt while wearing them and cannot wait to look back at the photos in a few years!

How did you meet your husband? Tell us a little bit about your relationship!
Tejas and I met online on an app. At the time, I was going to school in Virginia and Tejas was living in Michigan. Our first phone call was 5 hours long and felt like we had known each other for years. We spent the call catching each other up on our lives! Soon thereafter, Tejas said he would be in town for a business meeting and that we should meet up. It was not until our first date when I realized that there was no business meeting and he just wanted to see me!

What was the inspiration behind your wedding theme/aesthetic?
From the beginning, we knew that we wanted all of our wedding events to be outdoors and for our traditional events to have an unconventional twist. As a semi-destination wedding we wanted an unforgettable experience for our guests who were travelling to California to celebrate us. For our sangeet, we danced all night while having tacos and margaritas. The ladies had their henna done while others ended the night with a live ice cream cookie sandwich station!

When we saw Mount Palomar Winery we knew that it would be the perfect venue for our wedding and ceremony. The magnificent scenery was the ideal background for the ethereal tone of the ceremony but also to create an intimate setting for a magical reception.

What is one moment from your wedding day that you will never forget?
During the ceremony, we did the Sapthapadi (seven steps) together down the aisle, stopping at every row. These steps represented the beginning of our journey in life together and with each step we made a vow to each other. Our friends and family were able to be involved in the ceremony as they threw rose petals with every step we took. Having them be a part of this experience was so special and memorable. We felt overwhelmed with love and it was an unforgettable moment from our wedding day that we will never forget!
