Glowing in Green for the Reception

Glowing in Green for the Reception
Our team had the wonderful opportunity to help Veena Bhamre find the most perfect lehenga just for her. The bride was glowing in Kynah's emerald green Elizabeth Lehenga during golden hour. The newly weds planned a reception to capture all of California's natural beauty, weather, and Veena's childhood memories. We wish this couple all the happiness and success in their lives together!
What was your experience like working with KYNAH for your wedding?
The experience was amazing. I ordered all my outfits online due to the
pandemic. It ended up being the outfit I was the most excited for and the
least stressful! I had loved the Elizabeth Lehenga, but wanted a gown for
my reception. I booked a virtual appointment with Aisha and she was so
helpful! She was able to show me an example of the lehnga and helped me
customize it into the gown I wanted. I was able to choose the neckline I
wanted and make it sleeveless. The best part was during the stitching
process Aisha kept me up to date with the progress and even sent me a video
and pictures of the finished product before sending it, to make sure I was
okay with the way it turned out. The measurements were on point and the
gown fit like a glove! I didn't have to make any alterations. I wish I had
gotten all my other outfits from Kynah as well!
What attracted you to the Elizabeth Lehenga?
I really wanted a dark/ emerald green outfit that was intricate enough for
a reception and that I would feel glamorous and comfortable in. With the
pandemic I wasn't sure what setting our wedding would end up being in and I
wanted an outfit that would work well either indoors or outdoors.
What was the inspiration behind your wedding theme/aesthetic?
I grew up in California but now live in the midwest. One of the biggest
things I miss about California is the hills and scenery of California. I
always wanted to have an outdoor wedding and wanted my wedding and
reception to reflect the beauty of the outdoors without being too
intricate. Initially we were only planning on having the wedding outdoors,
but due to the pandemic we decided to move the reception outdoors as well.
It ended up being the perfect day and evening and our guests really got to
experience the amazing California sunshine and weather!
How did you meet your husband?
My husband and I met on the dating app Hinge in Chicago. He is from the
Midwest and I had lived there for a few years. We went for drinks on our
first date and hit it off! We were together for a couple years before he
proposed to me on a rooftop in Chicago, in the middle of the pandemic. It
was a total surprise and he even made his own soundtrack to play in the
background while he was proposing! It was such an amazing day and one I
definitely won't forget!
What’s one piece of advice you have for other brides/brides-to-be?
Pick your top 3 things as a couple that matter the most to you (food,
decor, photos, etc.) and spend your time and energy there. Everything else
we handed over to friends and family or didn't spend too much time on. It
really helped us budget-wise and sanity-wise during the planning process.
Also, we made sure to carve time out as a couple and tried to not talk
about wedding planning! Definitely easier said than done. It really helps
you focus on what you enjoy about each other and the reason you're getting
married in the first place, without letting the stress of planning a
wedding take over your relationship.
