Alexi’s South Indian–Egyptian Love Story in KYNAH

Alexi’s love story is filled with intention, connection, and the kind of quiet magic that lingers long after the big day. A South Indian and Egyptian bride balancing medical training and a long-distance relationship, she found her dream lehenga at KYNAH during a rare visit home—proof that the right outfit (and the right person) will always find you. From a lakeside proposal disguised as a birthday party to a wedding celebration that fused Coptic and Indian Orthodox traditions with live Egyptian drummers and a Chick-fil-A station, every moment was a heartfelt blend of cultures, family, and personal flair.

Our beautiful KYNAH bride Alexi, was truly glowing in a custom Maroon Sequin Lehenga Set by Seema Gujral! Congratulations to this lovely couple - the KYNAH team couldn't be happier for the both of you!

As said by Alexi:

Tell us about your experience working with KYNAH.

I had a wonderful experience with KYNAH. Since I’m based in NYC and was doing long distance with my now-husband, my availability was limited but the team made it work seamlessly. I can be quite particular when it comes to design, but when I visited in person, the stylist I worked with quickly understood my vision. She offered thoughtful suggestions for customizing the Seema Gujral lehenga I had my eye on, accommodating both my preferences and my family's input. When it came to finding an outfit for Tim, KYNAH was just as helpful by curating options that matched mine beautifully, whether in-person or online.

What stood out to you the most about your outfit from KYNAH? How did you know it was the one for you?
I loved the particular shade of red - it was a beautiful way to honor our culture, but was still modern by being a deeper shade of red. The embroidery work was also beautiful. Knowing that I could customize the blouse to what would make me comfortable was what sealed the deal!

How did your partner propose? Tell us more about the relationship!
What is one thing you wish you knew before you started planning your wedding?
I had been warned about most things, so while nothing was totally unexpected, some parts were still challenging! The biggest piece of advice: the earlier you start, the better. Planning ahead makes everything smoother.

If you and your husband could have invited any celebrity to your wedding, who would it be and why?
Probably someone who could really bring the energy with a live performance—someone like Diljit Dosanjh or Dua Lipa!
