The wedding of our dreams is here! We adore this myriad of KYNAH worn by our stunning KYNAH bride Aishwarya! She started her wedding festivities by wearing the iconic Azmi Outfit for her mehendi, and then wore the Ishani Lehenga for her Sangeet, where she danced the night away, and lastly wore the All Yours Powder Blue Lehenga for a fun reception look! Aishwarya looked like a true queen in every single look and really let her personality shine through them all! Congratulations to this beyond adorable couple - the KYNAH is honored to have been a small part of your big day!
As said by Aishwarya:
How did you hear about KYNAH? How was your experience working with KYNAH?
I heard from several South Asian friends over the years that they had found beautiful clothes for all occasions at KYNAH. I have followed the brand for a few years now, and when I got engaged and began planning the aesthetics for my wedding, I started browsing the website in earnest. I picked out designers I liked and I bookmarked outfits I thought would work for my style. There are few places in America like KYNAH. It’s a perfect one-stop store for all things Indian designer wear. I began working with KYNAH after my engagement, mapping out with them what I envisioned for my mehendi, sangeet and wedding. I peppered them with questions, and they took the time to respond to every one of them.
I then made it to an in-person bridal appointment at their LA store. I had already picked out five to six outfits during our virtual appointment, and Layan was incredible during my appointment. She was warm and honest with her opinions, and I walked out of the store knowing exactly what outfits I was going to pick for my wedding. My wedding took place in Hartford, Connecticut, and KYNAH was the only store I visited for dress shopping. And, it was perfect in every way.

What about the Ishani, All Yours Powder Blue, and Azmi reflect you as an individual?
The All Yours Powder Blue lehenga is a thing of beauty. I tried it on during my visit after a friend saw it on the rack and said, “this is so you, you have to try it on.” I fell in love with it the minute I saw myself in the mirror wearing it. It’s fun, it’s bold and it’s exquisite. I have never worn anything quite like it, and it’s such a signature Papa Don’t Preach lehenga. I knew immediately that would be my reception outfit. I also tried the Ishani lehenga during my visit. I loved how comfortable the skirt felt and how intricately designed the blouse was. It was also polar opposite to the powder blue lehenga. For starters, it was bright red, the blouse was full-sleeved and it had a more traditional and elegant quality to it. I remembered thinking it would be the perfect lehenga to dance the night away in. So, I decided to wear it to my sangeet. I picked the Azmi Dhoti sari from KYNAH’s ready to ship selection. I wanted a yellow outfit, and I wanted something that mirrored a sari but was easy to wear. The Azmi outfit was perfect. The small fit me perfectly, I didn’t have to get any alterations done. It was so comfortable and breezy to wear to my mehendi ceremony.
What is one moment you shared with your partner on your special day that you will never forget?
Hands down the wedding ceremony. We did an American-style secular ceremony, we had our best friend officiate the ceremony and we exchanged vows we had written for each other. We also walked down the aisle together (shoutout Sophia Bush who walked down the aisle with her husband for her wedding and plastered the idea into my brain!). We were continuing to build a life together and it felt really important that we walked towards that new goal hand in hand. Hearing him read his vows to me was incredibly special. I have felt and seen his love innumerable times in the past five years we’ve spent building a life together, but to hear his earnestness, his vulnerability, his kindness and his love in that speech truly moved me to tears. It’s something I will keep going back to for the rest of my life.
Do you have any advice for brides/brides to be?
It’s always the little moments that stand out when it’s all over. It was so special to see my fiance’s entire family embrace my culture – they enthusiastically wore Indian clothes throughout the weekend, they got mehendi done, they ate Indian food. So, my advice is – stay true to yourself. Pick outfits that reflect you. Help pick outfits for your family and friends (I did that and it made me so happy to see my vision come to life). More broadly, have your friends, family and guests be a part of your wedding in some meaningful way. Have a polaroid camera for the day! Share your mom’s crochet as a party favor! Pick a venue, food and dessert that means something to you! Make a personalized program sharing your story with the world!
If you could pick a song that represents you and your husband, what would it be and why?
It’s You Send Me by Sam Cooke. It is the song we had our first dance to. It’s a whole vibe. Sam Cooke has been a big part of our relationship, his songs are ethereal and boppy. This song is about the progression of love. I particularly love this paragraph:
At first I thought it was infatuation
But woo, it's lasted so long
Now I find myself wanting
To marry you and take you home, whoa-oh
