How was your experience with KYNAH?
My experience with KYNAH was absolutely amazing. I was lucky enough to get on their list for their NYC pop up very last minute. Aisha understood my urgent need for outfits and the fact that I didn't want to compromise on my outfits. I wanted to leave a mark at my wedding and wear something that was a blend of traditional style with western esthetics. I wanted it to reflect my personality. The pop up was gorgeous and I was awestruck by the outfits. There was so much variety and diversity in the collections. Everyone can find something from this brand. It definitely was a princess moment trying outfits there and finding my perfect ones.
What were you looking forward to most on your big day?
I was most looking forward to my entrance at the wedding ceremony, holding the bouquet, to the song Madaniyan, walking the aisle and just soaking in the moment. The outfit was a huge part of this moment! Another key moment I was looking forward for was the first look. I will never forget how my husband, Shivang, looked at me in the beautiful lehenga! I also was looking forward to my dance performance in my reception outfit, a moment of my own. I love dancing and I have taught it at different levels. Giving an ode to my dance idol Madhuri Dixit in my KYNAH's outfit was a key part of the reception.
What was it about the Ruby and Nessa Lehengas that made you say “Yes!”?
I loved that I wore the Ruby for my wedding ceremony. I knew I wanted to wear something that was going to be shiny and sparkly, something that made me feel like a princess.
Ruby was perfect!! Full of sequins and silk was shining bright and just felt like the right lehenga for me. And I loved that it was not a traditional lehenga, the top was just gorgeous!! I put it on and instantly got the feeling of being a bride in that outfit. I tried other outfits but connected the most with the Ruby. Both my mom and I fell in love with
Ruby. Everyone called me a Royal princess at my wedding outfit!
The
Nessa Lehenga was a bold move for an Indian reception outfit, as the colors are pastels and beige and gold. I wanted something different than the average Indian reception outfit, which is usually dark color and traditional. When I saw Nessa, I couldn't take my eyes off of it. There was beautiful embroidery, colors to die for and the dupatta was just gorgeous. It was just perfect when I put it on, again got the princess feeling. I wanted gold in my outfit and the top was just amazing. I received so many compliments on
Nessa!
Where did you go for your honeymoon?
We went to Dubai where my husband also performed at a concert of Indian legend AR Rahman. He is a rapper. I fell in love with the desert, Dubai, it's people, food and positive vibes. The experience is one for the books!
Did you enjoy planning your engagement/wedding?
In retrospect, I feel that it's best to hire a wedding planner to plan all that is needed to set up the wedding and reception. We planned it ourselves and had to directly communicate with our vendors, which was okay but some help in that department would have been wonderful. We had the greatest food, photo, video, cake and venue, but it takes a lot of effort when you plan it all on your own and could be very stressful. So if you able to trust someone with your wedding (a professional), I highly suggest you do so and hire a wedding planner. In terms of outfits and jewelry, I would recommend my vendors - KYNAH & ReeMat Designs!
