What stood out to you the most about your outfit from KYNAH? How did you know it was the one for you?
It had all the elegance and glam of our venue while beautifully highlighting my heritage.
My husband flew across the country to surprise me with a romantic proposal by a beautiful lake. He had the most thoughtful evening planned, but I accidentally foiled it! We were doing long distance at the time, and when I called him that morning, I overheard “TSA federal regulations…” in the background and instantly knew he was at the airport. I tried to act surprised, and honestly, it didn’t take away from the moment at all. I know it sounds cliché, but in our relationship, it truly is the thought that counts.
What was your favorite part of your wedding? How did you make the wedding personal to you?
My favorite part of our wedding was actually all the little moments leading up to the big day. For context, my family is originally from Tamil Nadu, India, while my husband’s family is from Minnesota and Iowa. Though we come from very different cultural backgrounds, my in-laws were eager to learn more about India and Tamil culture. My husband and I even traveled to my father’s hometown in India to purchase our wedding outfits. It was incredibly special because we were able to get the blessings of my grandparents who couldn’t travel for the wedding, and in that way, they still played a big part in our celebration. They welcomed my husband with open arms. During the wedding itself, from the playful games during the ceremony to the delicious food and heartfelt dance performances from family and friends, it was truly the best day of my life.
