Catherine and her now-husband held charming wedding celebrations surrounded by nature. The Midnight Lehenga contrasted beautifully against the sunset skies of Park City, Utah and she was absolutely glowing against the pinks & oranges! The KYNAH team was so happy that our blue lehenga was exactly what she had envisioned for a dark, elegant Sangeet aesthetic. Congrats to these newly weds, we wish them a lifetime of love and happiness together!
What was it about the Midnight Lehenga that made you say “Yes!”?
The KYNAH team helped me find a lehenga for our sangeet. I didn't have a set piece in mind when starting the process but wanted something that was elegant and bridal without being over the top. I have a relaxed casual style and wanted to feel like myself in the outfit and be able to dance without feeling too restricted. I tend to gravitate towards darker colors but knew I wanted something other than black for the wedding. The instant I saw the Midnight Lehenga it became my top choice. I loved how elegant the dark blue looked and how much it shimmered in the light. I also wanted something with an open back without being too revealing. The deep cut in the back and the belt totally elevated the outfit and gave it a playful chic look. The Midnight Lehenga is definitely a statement piece on it's own and perfect for a minimalist bride.
How was your experience with the KYNAH team?
Throughout the entire process the KYNAH team was easy to work with and attentive to details. Getting married in the US during covid, I didn't have a chance to go to India to pick out outfits and KYNAH made it easy to connect with some of the top designers in India. It was an easy process through and through and Aisha spent many phone calls working with me to ensure everything was perfect. The entire KYNAH team was easy to work with from the start of picking a lehenga to shipping. Aisha was very responsive and answered all of my questions. One of the things I was most worried about was accurate sizing and having to do last minute alterations in the US but everything was near perfect with only a few minor alterations needed. It was a very easy and stress-free process!
What was the inspiration behind your wedding theme/aesthetic?
We didn't have a specific theme for the sangeet, only that we wanted the color palette to reflect sunset tones and the dark blue lehenga stood out beautifully against the pink and coral colors. We got married in the mountains of Park City, Utah and wanted each wedding event to emphasize a part of nature. We wanted to highlight the beauty of the mountains and the changing leaves during fall time. The sangeet reflected sunset, the wedding ceremony occurred against a mountain backdrop, and the reception emulated an enchanted forest complete with hanging greenery, lights, and chandeliers.
How did you add your personal touch to you and your husband’s big day?
I grew up Catholic and my husband grew up Hindu so we opted to do a fusion
wedding that pulled from both customs. Instead of having two separate ceremonies, we blended the components of a traditional Sindhi and Catholic ceremony into one beautiful wedding. I ended up wearing a white gown and long veil which doubled into a dupatta. It was important to us that the wedding reflected a sense of unity and the bridging of two cultures so the whole weekend was a mix of western and Hindu traditions.
