A Grand Entrance in the Sasha Lehenga

A Grand Entrance in the Sasha Lehenga
For Shayla, the Sasha Lehenga practically chose her rather than her looking for it! It encapsulated the blend of both of her cultures and was the perfect outfit when surprising her father in a traditional lehenga. Shayla and her husband Patrick had an array of treasured moments on their special day — from their grand entrance with their dog, Carlos, doing a first look with her father and celebrating with all of their loved ones. Through it all, Shayla was shining bright in the Sasha Lehenga by Seema Gujral. Congratulations to this lovely couple - the KYNAH team is honored to have been a small part of your big day.
As said by Shayla:
How did you hear about KYNAH? How was your experience working with
KYNAH?
A friend I met through event planning showed me the Sasha after I told her the vision of the dress and I immediately knew it was the one after seeing it. The experience with KYNAH was one I would recommend in the future!
What about the Sasha Lehenga made you say yes to the dress?
I come from a mix background, my father is Indian while my mother is American and I wanted my wedding dress to represent both cultures. I wanted a white Indian dress which is not easy to find. Once I saw the Sasha, I instantly knew it was the one. Without even trying it on, I sent in my measurements and prayed for the best!
What is your favorite memory from your wedding?
While the whole thing is my favorite memory, the one that sticks out the most is that I surprised my Dad by wearing a traditional lehenga. For the whole year and a half of planning we had him thinking I was wearing an American wedding dress. I was doing a first look with my dad and just the look on his face when he turned around is priceless and something I will always treasure! My other favorite memory is our grand entrance. We have a dog named Carl who is our world. So for our entrance we put him in his doggy backpack and entered into this gorgeous greenhouse where our cocktail reception was taking place and saw all of our family and friends who were just so excited to celebrate us, and Carl of course! Overall, we had our family and friends travel many miles to Hot Springs, AR to celebrate Patrick and I -and we truly felt an immense amount of love and gratitude to be surrounded by everyone. I will never forget that feeling and would do it all over again in a heartbeat.
How did you and your partner meet?
My husband and I met on Hinge! Not shocking these days to meet on a dating app, but he without a doubt stood out. Just from texting I knew there was something different about him. Our connection and similarities were in sync. We met officially on August 3, 2018 and from that day forward, I knew I would be marrying him. My mom always told me when she saw my dad, that she knew she was marrying him which I thought was insane. But now I have that story myself. I saw Patrick and just knew. Our connection was instant and easy. He is the most supportive, aspirational, kind, and funny human in the world and I can't believe I get to call him my husband!
If you could give one-piece of advice to all brides to be, what would
you say?
Do whatever the hell you want to do for your wedding. All cultures have their traditions, and I understand honoring those, but I think the day should 100% represent the couple as partners going into their new chapter. I wanted our guests to attend a weekend where they truly got to experience us as a couple! I wanted every part of the day to represent who we are, what we enjoy, how we have fun! From the food to the music to the experience, I made sure I wasn't doing something because that's what you're supposed to do, I did it because we wanted to. Remember, it is your party, plan it how you want to!
